An Introverts Paradise….?
For many Introverts, this time is heaven! We’re at home, not interrupted by people, organising our own time, following our own unique rhythms, able to ‘pause’ when we need to & we have a genuine reason to say no to social occasions… absolute paradise! However, for others who thrive on social contact, this is a nightmare of deprivation, a lack of stimulus, time without people to ‘top us up’…
Now, I realise that’s not taking into account that your ‘wiring’ may not suit what’s required of you at this time of lockdown – some will be locked down with family or housemates ‘invading’ any sense of personal space, or indeed, with work demands so high that ‘pausing’ may not feel a possibility…
What I’d suggest (& I’m a mixture of both) is to firstly just notice what you like or dislike about this situation, what buttons are being pushed… And, I’m not suggesting you allocate time to this, I think sometimes the realisation can simply float to the surface of your awareness, or perhaps grab you by the throat with some very strong feelings…!! Then… gradually… you may be able to consider how you could use this awareness, going forward, whatever the hell happens next…
There are plusses in all this, some of them we’ll appreciate now, some not for some time & that’s not to say there isn’t heartache & grief, in all sorts of ways, people & life as it was, to let go of… not necessarily easy, but change is inevitable, whatever it is that ‘forces’ it…
However you are finding this, coping (or not) with it, big up any benefits, if & when you spot them & let your feelings out..
As always, if you sense I can offer some input, practical or otherwise, that would normally be part of your massage sessions… do contact me…
ps Mrs Pjs has revelled in getting presentable frequently… who expected that!! Have you had more or less pj days…?
