Fairy lights required?
Hmmm, it’s that time of year already… the days are definitely getting shorter, darkness is coming in earlier & grey days seem to have more impact on any light indoors…
For me, that’s a sign to embrace ‘cosy’ fast! So, I make a ‘note to self’ fairy lights on, consider hot water bottles, different music, programmes or movies to have as back ground & lift my spirits to revel in those pleasures…
Those of you who know me, know I LOVE (& need) stonking heat, & for me, this summer has not cut it! The clue for me is how many treatments outdoors, how often did I wear my floaty, cool uniform…. mebbe 3 times…!! So, my bones are NOT happy going into Autumn, but, it is what it is, & I can’t say I don’t love other aspects of this time of year…
Although there’s less day, there is more night, which means stunning night skies after evening appointments – did anyone else see the beautiful ‘slice of orange’ quarter moon last night? Truly out of this world, so low in the sky, just mesmerising… So I do love the fact that I get to see the moon much more often on my journeys home, a treat at the end of my day…
I urge you to find the delights before slumping into some automatic low… Surely Bake Off, Strictly, Celebrity Masterchef or some other shallow (but fab) telly can lift you with a bit of lightweight nonsense? Kathy Burke’s series (Ch 4) for something deeper… Broke (B2) if you’re not & you want to appreciate what you do have… (& you’ll need to move fast, it’s about to disappear).
And, as always, if fairy lights etc don’t cut it for you, embrace the low, allow it, then make a gratitude list… or have a massage?!
