Long Term Wellness/Fitness…
I hope you enjoyed the last ‘guest’ post _ I felt it might be useful to read Teja’s thoughts & relationship with Kundalini yoga.
I don’t know about you, but, for me, a very different year so far… no ‘enforced dormouse‘, in fact very little dormouse at all! Maybe it’s because I did take time out to integrate much of what was new last year & I was ready to crack on with 2017…? Who knows… I remember reading about how the relentless way we thrash our brains to perform, wears us out & proper time out is required for effective progress. Too true…
Before the pace picks up for Spring & Summer, take a moment to look around at those who are 10, 20, 30 or 40 years older than you. From your perspective, what has worked in their lives? What were the smart choices, what less so, what did they, perhaps, have little choice about? What would/do you do differently? We often have changing priorities, in any case, as we get older – work & money, family & friends, or indeed health & well being!
You know what has underpinned my focus &, whilst, this has not made my life simple or straightforward, I am aware that the state of my health (possibly more than anything else) allows me immense freedom. I came across this piece about Feldenkrais the other day in a Massage Equipment Newsletter – very surprising! Whether you vote for a sport, Pilates, swimming, yoga, Feldenkrais or whatever (massage?!)… do consider the ‘long term’ aspects of wellness/fitness & ensure some gentle, kind, nurturing elements that allow you to be exactly where you are NOW.
